Klya Kwim means "Silent Waters"

The stewards of Klya Kwim have lived in the Inlet   for 20 years. Klya Kwim, as an eco tourism destination  came into existence in 1991. Upon returning from a teaching assignment in the Yukon, the owners commenced the arduous task of completing the float cabin facilities, and landscaping, for this picturesque site in the wilderness. All materials were brought in 15 miles by boat or made at Klya Kwim. Beginning with a small cabin with a bare foothold on the edge of sea and forest, the site was developed. Chain saws cut  and  lumber emerged from an Alaska Mill- all aspects of building were under taken over a six month period- planning, drawings, deck layout, framing, stove and chimney installation, plumbing,  propane installation, siding, roofing, cedar plank door construction, window installation, and finishing  Built on a float looking out on the wilderness, the cabin sits in a gentle bay with a view matching any other in coastal B.C. within two hours of Vancouver, B.C.

Located in Narrows Inlet on the Beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia Canada

Klya Kwim is located in a fjord which completely isolates it from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Little intrudes on the solitude of a summer evening with the moon's silver sheen silhouetting the mountains. Guests are alone in the wilderness. Klya Kwim provides a time and place to reflect on life. The inlet grows on you as a blanket gently warms you. Beauty. Silence. Changes in light. Spring with the first golden green of rebirth. Summer with its warmth. Rains, mists fogs, the quiet song of birds. Autumn with an Indian Summer is spectacular, as is the colour of the leaves, the hot days, the clear cold nights. Phosphorescence lights up under the dart of thousands of fish streaking away from your boat. A canopy of stars on a moonless night is closer and more bright than most planetariums. Few boats
frequent this inlet. With low tides during the day, the long hot summer sun heats the shoreline rocks to provide a pleasant 70 degree F water. On a clear bright day or quiet evening, the First Nations name, Klya Kwim, reveals it's origin "Silent Waters"
